Yvon Perreault, was born in Timmins, Ontario on November 9, 1929.  Yvon lived in Mount Joy Township, now a part of Timmins, on Riverside Drive.  As a teenager, Yvon enjoyed working on cars and decided to become an auto mechanic. Yvon loved to play music and music is where he met Jeanne-D`arc Monette, daughter of Leo and Dorra Monette of Sturgeon Falls, Ontario.
It all  started on a Saturday night in 1950 at the Sunny Side dance hall in Mount Joy, Ontario.  Jeanne-D`arc was up to Timmins for a weekend and this is when she met Yvon that Saturday night and fell in love.  Yvon's courtship with Jeanne-D`arc lasted 2 years before they married on August 7, 1952 in Sturgeon Falls.  Yvon joined the Canadian Army March 29, 1952.  He was called out for duty in the Far East, to "The Korean War".
Yvon shipped out on the USS MARINE LINX in Vancouver, BC, September of 1953.  He landed in Tokyo, Japan and was transported to the Imjim River South Korea.  Yvon returned home to Canada in August of 1954.  Yvon and Jeanne-D`arc lived in Timmins, Ontario.  Yvon worked for Bupont Motors in Timmins and played music part-time at local bars until their first child, Raymond, was born July 20, 1955.  Yvon later moved his family to Sturgeon Falls working as a dump truck driver for Peel Construction Brampton, paving the Trans Canada Highway, Hwy. 17.  On September 7, 1956, their second child Rejean was born in Sturgeon Falls.  With no work, Yvon moved to North Bay in 1958 working as a truck driver. Their third child, Claudette, was born January 15, 1959 in North Bay, Ontario.  Yvon moved back to Timmins and worked for Logan Keer until 1962 then moved back to Sturgeon Falls.  Gilles, their fourth child, was born January 26, 1963 in Sturgeon Falls and their fifth child, Diane, was born April 26, 1965 in Sturgeon Falls as well. Yvon worked for Nipissing Bus Lines as a mechanic in Sturgeon Falls until 1984.  Yvon passed away on April 27, 1985.
He will be sadly and deeply missed by us all.
