Nice Site. My grandmother was Marie Aline Perreault. She came to Michigan from Ste. Patrice, Quebec, with her parents and most of her siblings in 1923. She married my grandfather Alfred Joseph Plante (also from QC) in 1925. I don't know any Perreault genealogy before my great-grandparents. First cousins of my father are in QC, MA, MI, CA, NV, and my second cousins have spread even further across the US. Do you have any information on the early Perreault descendants? Or where the ancestral home is?

Hi Suzanne, the Perreault family originated in Bourgogne, France and Normandy. We would be happy to help you if we can but I will need a little more information such as the names of your grandmothers parents and any birthdates you may have.

Have a nice day!
Thanks, Reggie

I am a descendant of Nicolas and just discovered this fact while working on my family tree. What a treasure: My ancestor: Marie Angelique Perrault, her father Michel Perrault, his father Claude Perrault and his father: Nicolas Perrot!! I'm having fun and THIS SITE helped me add quite a bit of DATA to my tree. THANKS so much.
From Minnesota with LOVE to all Perraults (Perrots)

Hello cousin,
As you can see from my name I am a Perrault. Our great grandfathers are brothers, my being Adolore Perrault. He was one of the three brothers that came back to the U.S. after the move back to Canada from Oregon. They (Adolore, Adolph, and Henry) with their wives and children homesteaded in the Horse heaven Hills of southeastern Washington (close to Prosser, WA.) My grandfather (Alfred or Fred) was born in Grass Valley, Oregon. “The Dallas” is where the Catholic Parish was located and all official church business was conducted. My father and I were born in Washington; I was born in Pasco and my dad in Toppenish. I have quite a bit of info on the U.S. Perrault line if you are looking for info let me know what you want and I will try to help. I also have another French Canadian line, LaPierre on my mom’s side. So from my grandparents I am:

1. French Canadian - Perrault
2. American English - Fuller (Mayflower Immigrants)
3. French Canadian – LaPierre
4. German – Schulz

I carry the name of Perrault in a country that doesn’t have as many as in Canada and am proud to do so, my son in the army even has Perrault tattooed on his side with a French flag in the background!
Hope to hear from you soon,
Greg Perrault

I was adopted at birth in June of 1959 in Biddeford Maine. My birthmother's name was Adrienne J Perreault. She would have been born in 1941 or 1942. I have been searching to find her with no luck. Wondered if she was possibly was/is part of your extended family.

Thank you so much for this web site!!! Your hard work is very much appreciated. Like Patty, I am adopted. I just found out through DNA that I am a descendent of Anne Perreault 1647-1688. Still searching to find out who my birth father is, but am grateful for the information you have here. Can't wait to learn more.

My grandfather was Clyde Devere Parro. He was adopted by Arthur and Annie Parro. Arthur was the son of Damos/Thomas Paro. Damos came from Quebec Canada to the U.S. in the mid 1800's. He changed the name from Perrault to Paro legally here in the states. His father was Basile Perrault Nicholas Perrault/Perrot was my 7th great grandfather from what I can trace, however as my grandfather was possibly adopted, I'm not completely sure if I am a descendant of the family. Has anyone done any DNA tests that I can compare mine to in order to help me find this out?

What do I have to do to get a copy of the Newsletter for the Association in English? I have been a member of the organization for about 5 years, or even more, and even though I have requested several people, many times I can not get a copy of the newsletter for The Association of Nicolas Perrot. Anybody able to help me??
I am a direct descendant of Nicolas.

My Perreault ancestor (Jean Maurice) was the son of a Jean Perrault and an Irish Famine emigrant woman, named Mary. He was born in abt. 1862. To fit in better when he emigrated to New York, he anglicized his name to John Perry. He had trained as a silversmith in Quebec and opened a factory in Princes Bay, Staten Island that made dentures and art objects in the late 1800s. He did well, had servants and owned a yacht. Died in an epidemic in 1905. My father and aunt (Louis et Adele) were given French first names in homage to their maternal grandfather's French ancestry. Difficult to trace. I can see fourth and further Perreault cousins on Ancestry.com. Working back from the locations of their cited ancestors.

hi all im so excited to have found this info as ive been on ancestry.com trying to find my ancestral roots.i met my father Yvon Perreault son of Louis Perreault & Jeanne Tessier; grandson to Come Perreault & Marie Louise Hivon wen i was 20 (1986 - 1999) wen tragically he passed.our times wer spent enjoying each other (he lived in alberta n i in manitoba) then later with his grandson.since birth i was deterred by his mother & siblings til 1 day i met some 1 whom got word to him.our open arms as father & daughter buried lost yrs like none existed.my maternal ancesters (ROY: 6 -10 generations) also came from the "cote des perreault" areas villages.i myself lived in many northern ontario villages including Timmins finding out that my friends wer family by name n 1 whoms mother was adopted by my grandparents.now reading this history helps clarify as well keeps my purpose of driving from each cemetery in any & all towns within quebec/ontario taking pictures of all ancestral stones decoding lineages along side the many hours of decyphering the writings of archives by reading unlimited hours for all our future generations including those researching now in the present.yrs ago i was sent a picture of my gr. grandparents & was shocked to see how much my gr. grandmother Marie Louise Hivon & i's facial features wer soooo alike. yet all my life ive been asked which native blood runs thru my veins tho i was raised white french canadian.wuld you plz help me clarify this as this is the only ? that i can not ask the dead or find such information.i wuld also like to greet one and all family members. i wuld like to thk u for all help in continuing to learn the history of my pahpaws family name & the ancesters he loved & heart broken that i never lived or got to be part of.
